Edition 2015

The ScanCoveryTrial edition 2015 was marked with the unique visit to Spitsbergen. Through the beautiful Atlantic Road in west Norway and an overnight in Trondheim, we drove across the very woody Sweden. A decent day stage where the temperature reached minus 30 degrees Celsius.

Arrived in the Finnish Yllas the participants have enjoyed an extra day off before they flew to Spitsbergen the next day. For this journey the organisation booked exclusive a Boeing 737 with 189 seats. The day on Spitsbergen was special. It’s winter on Svalbard and around the capital of this archipelago in the Barentsz-sea (who we announce as Spitsbergen) it’s permanently dark. At night an during the day. From November till the end of February the over three thousand residents of the Norwegian settlement are kept from daylight. Only with a full moon Spitsbergen cheers a bit up in the dark.

The journey back became a true war of attrition. In particular the extreme slipperiness in Poland took care of a big delay.

Because of the first lustrum the organisation treated the participants extra on a stay in the German capital Berlin. With an exclusive dinner on a high altitude (Fernseheturm) we close the fifth ScanCoveryTrial edition.
