ScanCoveryTrial

Criss cross through Scandinavia

In one week the ScanCoveryTrial goes through beautiful Scandinavia. In this week we will drive more than 7.000 kilometres and this under circumstances with a lot of snow, ice and temperatures who can drop till minus 47 degrees Celsius. The 8th edition starts on Friday 5 January 2018 and ends on Sunday 14 January 2018. The route is just like previous years, except for the special destiny, top secret but will certainly leave an enchanting impression with the participants and the many followers. The ScanCoveryTrial is absolutely not a race or rally competition but a car tour where a tight surveillance of the traffic rules is essential for the competition. Next to navigation trough coordinates the ScanCoveryTrial also uses a Route book with unique heats.

The program

Doing nothing isn't a part of this trip

During the coming edition the special destination are the Lofoten Islands. This group of islands are chosen repeatedly to be the most beautiful islands of the world. This is true! But not only the Lofoten Islands are a once in a lifetime experience for the participants of 2017. The men and women are going with a spectacular whale safari next year.

The Lofoten Islands

Are a beautiful group of islands in front of the coast of Norway. The Lofoten Islands are known for their fishing waters, wonderful nature and faraway characteristic fishing villages. The group of islands are situated in the middle of the savage Norwegian Sea, widely above the polar circle. This special environment offers a brilliant landscape of considerable mountains, deep fjords and long, wild sandy beaches where the sound of the many seabird colonies is never far away. Also there are extraordinarily clouds to see like you can’t see them anywhere in the world. Not only tourists are visiting these beautiful islands, also the giants of the ocean are yearly visiting the coast of the Norwegian Lofoten Islands. Shortly: a spectacular whale safari will not be missing during the ScanCoveryTrial 2017!

Whale safari

Scandinavia is a top location to spot whales. Cachalots are seen the most during the trip, but also dolphins, minke whales, humpback whales and orcas can be remarked. These whales are swimming near the coast looking for food (herring). A whale safari is therefore very unique!
